Wesbrook Village is a forward-thinking community on the UBC Point Grey campus. The neighbourhood offers a diverse variety of real estate and rental housing options showcasing the best in sustainable architecture and design, at the threshold of Pacific Spirit Park, with a robust complement of retail options, services, and community amenities. Wesbrook Village thus weaves a vibrant new community into UBC campus, supporting UBC life on every level – and at every stage of life. To that end, Wesbrook Village hosts a speaker series, “Wesbrook Talks,” in partnership with UBC alumni.
These speaker engagements have been enormously successful. The first, last June, entitled “Influential Women in Business,” featured prominent executives and community leaders Barbara Brink, Barbara Kaminsky, and Barbara Dunfield, in a discussion moderated by CBC host Renee Filipone. The event sold out quickly, and was incredibly well received.
The second event, on September 18th, features Michael Audain, Chairman of Polygon Homes, in a discussion entitled “Building on Your Passions.” This, too, sold out quickly.
A third event is in the works, and judging from the response to these first two events, from both alumni and the wider community, these discussions are in high demand. The venue is confirmed this third discussion will be held at the new Wesbrook Village pub, BierCraft – and the date and speakers are soon to be announced. Stay tuned in to www.DiscoverWesbrook.com and www.alumni.ubc.ca for details on this and other upcoming “Wesbrook Talks” events.
