The Wesbrook Commmunity Centre has been a major boon to this neighbourhood. The soaring, light-filled, LEED-certified building hosts incredible spaces and 200+ programs – everything from tai chi to the arts. It’s the perfect west side place to learn, play, gather, and grow. Summer programs are open for registration at the Wesbrook Community Centre now! Check them out at http://www.myuna.ca/registration/.
There’s one feature we’ve all been waiting for, and it’s about to make a big splash. The Kids Splash Pad will be the perfect place to cool down, frolic in the sun, and play for hours. With fresh potable water, a hand activated system, and its close connection to the Wesbrook Community Centre, the Splash Pad will be the best water feature this side of Granville Island (some would say the best in the city!).
BIG SPLASH EVENT
Naturally we’re excited, so the UNA and the Wesbrook Village Community Centre are celebrating with a big launch event. On Sunday, May 29, they’ll be turning on the waterworks in style, with free face-painting, music, and family fun. The first 300 visitors will get a free treat from Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, come drop by the Wesbrook Village tent for some chocolate drinks, and other refreshments will be served as well. It’s a perfect way to refresh the neighbourhood!
Date: Sunday, May 29
Location: Kids Splash Pad! (next to the Wesbrook Community Centre)
